Kumar Aashish is a Fellow of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) Ahmedabad and currently serving Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida Campus, which is one of the top PGDM/MBA colleges in Delhi NCR. Prior to this, he was associated with the Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), Hyderabad, as an Assistant Professor in the area of Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Incubation from August 2018 to July 2021.
Before doctoral studies, he was associated with AKS University as Assistant Professor and served as founding coordinator of 'Center for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development (September 2012 to July 2014). His doctoral thesis titled "Impact of Business Incubators on Start-up's Growth" was well appreciated by policymakers and had great sync with the first-ever Student Start-up Policy introduced by AICTE in 2016, Institution Innovation Council initiative by MoE (the then MHRD), and training/incubation of incubators initiated by Atal Innovation Mission. During his doctoral program, he was actively associated with Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) – India Team and a high-rated resource person for International executive training programs sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
He is specialized in 'Experiential Entrepreneurship Education' and 'Case-based teaching'. Under this, he practices the "Stimulate, Educate and Incubate" mechanism of Ideal Start-up Education Pedagogy (iSEP) being developed in one of his research papers. His research papers are featured in ABDC A and B category journals. He offers courses on Business Model Innovation, Corporate Innovation; Family Business; and Marketing Engineering and Analytics.
Currently, he is serving as a project steering committee member of DST sponsored major research project and board of studies member of Swarrnim Startup & Innovation University, Gujarat. He believes scientific training for innovation and entrepreneurship changes the individual's worldview.
