Varsha Madheshiya is an Assistant Professor in the Finance and Accounting area at Jaipuria Institute of Management. She is pursuing a Joint Doctoral Program at the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, in collaboration with UTS Business School, University of Technology Sydney, Australia. She holds a Master of Commerce (M.Com.) degree from Banaras Hindu University. She is a recipient of the UGC Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and has qualified the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET).
Her research has been published in leading ABDC-ranked journals, including Applied Economics and Emerging Markets Review. She has presented her research at several national and international conferences, such as the Australasian Finance and Banking Conference (AFBC), the Sydney Banking and Financial Stability Conference (SBFC), and the Financial Engineering and Banking Society (FEBS) Conference. She also received the Best Paper Award at the Research Symposium hosted by the Department of Management Studies, IIT Madras, in 2025. She also serves as a Research Team Member at the Centre for Research on Start-ups and Risk Financing (CREST), IIT Madras.
Through her academic work, she aims to contribute to research that addresses contemporary issues in finance, innovation, and technology.
