Dr. Nupur Gupta

Dr. Nupur Gupta is an Associate Professor in Finance & Accounting area at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore, an AACSB-accredited Business School, where she also serves as Chair of Executive Education and Consultancy. With nearly two decades of experience spanning academia and the financial services industry, she brings a unique blend of scholarship, mentorship, and industry practice to her work.

She holds a PhD in Finance from BIT Mesra, an MBA in Finance from ICFAI Business School, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (India). Before joining academia, she worked in the financial services industry for three years and has taught at leading institutions, including NMIMS, K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management, VESIMSR (Mumbai University), and the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in Germany, over the last 16 years ( as of September 2025). At Jaipuria, she teaches advanced courses, including Corporate Finance, Fixed Income Securities, Equity & Portfolio Analysis, Wealth Management, and Investment Banking.

Her research spans asset pricing, financial markets, portfolio management, and sustainable finance. She has published more than 25 research papers, including ABDC and Scopus-listed journals, as well as book chapters with Springer and Bloomsbury. She regularly presents at prestigious forums, including the PAN-IIM World Management Conference and the India Finance Conference.

Her contributions extend beyond research to editorial and peer review services. She has served as a reviewer for leading journals, including Financial Innovation (Springer, Scopus Q1), Business Perspectives and Research (SAGE, Scopus Q2, ABDC-C), the Journal of Global Economy, and as an advisor at the Research Centre for Social Sciences (RCSS India)

Dr Gupta has also designed and delivered MDPs for AU Small Finance Bank, VIVO India, HPCL, Engineers India Ltd., and ICSI. Her contributions have been recognised through awards, including India’s Best Finance Teacher (2021), the Global Faculty Award (2023), and the Madhya Pradesh Women Leaders Award (2024).
