FDP on Circular Economy and SDG12: A Roadmap for Sustainable Industrial Practices at Jaipuria Jaipur

Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur, in association with the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy, is organizing a Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “Circular Economy and SDG 12: A Roadmap for Sustainable Industrial Practices”, scheduled from 27 January to 2 February 2026. The program is designed to address contemporary challenges related to sustainability, responsible consumption, and production, with a specific focus on the principles and practices of the circular economy.

Program Objectives

The FDP aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of circular economy principles and their alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). The specific objectives include:

  • Developing a systematic understanding of resource flow management through circular economy practices, focusing on waste minimization and lifecycle extension of products.
  • Equipping participants with conceptual, methodological, and technological knowledge related to circular economy and SDG 12.
  • Introducing decision-support tools and analytical frameworks to address systemic interdependencies in sustainable production and consumption.
  • Exploring the role of digitalization in transforming traditional linear industrial models into sustainable and resource-efficient systems.
  • Empowering academicians, researchers, and practitioners to drive sustainability-led innovation, informed decision-making, and employment generation in the circular economy domain.

Course Content

The program covers a wide range of interdisciplinary themes, including:

  • Fundamentals of Circular Economy and sustainability
  • Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for sustainable decision-making
  • Research methods and emerging trends in circular economy and sustainability
  • Decision-making frameworks in circular economy contexts
  • Circular economy and SDG 12 in business and industrial applications
  • Resource conservation theories and practices
  • Closed-loop supply chain design for sustainability
  • Digitalization for sustainable business management
  • Green and sustainable manufacturing practices
  • Recent trends in sustainability and SDG attainment

In addition to classroom sessions, the FDP includes simulation labs, research methodology training, practical sessions on LCA and decision-making tools, guest lectures by journal editors, and an industrial visit to a manufacturing unit in the Jaipur region.

Pedagogy and Program Structure

The FDP follows an intensive, practice-oriented structure spread over six days, combining lectures, article discussions, simulation-based learning, software demonstrations, industrial exposure, and reflective exercises. Participants will also engage in hands-on sessions related to ESG and sustainability reporting, closed-loop supply chain simulations, and digital decision-support tools.

Target Participants

The program is intended for faculty members of AICTE-approved institutions, research scholars, postgraduate students, industry professionals, government officials, and technical staff from industry. As per ATAL Academy norms, participation from the host institution will not exceed 30% of the total intake.

Certification and Participation

The FDP will be conducted in offline mode and is fully sponsored by the ATAL Academy. There is no registration fee, and seats are limited. Participants who maintain a minimum of 80% attendance and secure at least 60% marks in the evaluation test will receive e-certificates issued by the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy.
