Checking Your Test Score

The process for checking your CAT 2024 score is as follows:

  • SMS Notification: Your CAT 2024 result, including your overall percentile, has been sent to your registered mobile number via SMS.
  • Official Website: You can download the detailed scorecard by logging into the official CAT website: www.iimcat.ac.in

Steps to Download Your Scorecard

Click on ‘Download Scorecard for CAT 2024’: Visit the CAT website and locate the link for downloading your scorecard.
Login: Access the portal using your CAT 2024 registered user ID and password.
Select ‘Score Card’: In the next window, click the ‘Score Card’ icon.
Download the Scorecard: Follow the instructions to download your CAT 2024 scorecard and save/print it for your records.

Understanding Your Test Score

Your CAT 2024 result will include a section-wise and overall scaled score along with a percentile ranking.

Scaled Scores: The raw scores obtained in each section are adjusted based on the relative difficulty level of each exam slot to ensure fairness across different test sessions.
Percentile Scores: Percentiles indicate your performance relative to other candidates. For instance, if you secure a 98 percentile, it means you have performed better than 98% of the candidates.

Details in Your Scorecard Your CAT 2024 scorecard will include:
Personal Information: Name, Address, Photograph, Date of Birth, Email ID.
Registration Details: CAT 2024 Registration number/User ID.
Category & Gender: Your declared category (General/OBC/SC-ST) and gender.
PWD Status: If applicable.

Scores & Percentiles: Section-wise scaled scores and percentiles, as well as the overall scores and percentile.

What Happens Next?
After the announcement of results, each B-School, including IIMs, will declare its cut-off scores for admissions. You will receive interview calls based on these cut-offs. It’s important to note that each institute independently uses CAT 2024 scores as per its own selection process to shortlist candidates for their Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) or MBA programs.

The second stage of the selection process typically includes:

Group Discussion (GD): Discussing a specific topic or business scenario to evaluate leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Written Ability Test (WAT): Evaluating your coherency, clarity of thought, and written communication through essays or statements of purpose.
Personal Interview (PI): Assessing your technical knowledge, verbal communication, and overall personality.
Other Factors for Admission In addition to your CAT score, your academic records (Class 10, 12, graduation marks), work experience, and other factors such as gender diversity are considered.
