For Namrata Gwal, being a part of the 2012-14 PGDM batch of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore is a dream come true! Namrata says that ever since she had heard that the famed Jaipuria Group was opening a campus in her city, she had set her heart on joining it.
“Jaipuria Institute of Management is the pride of Indore! Even at my management-coaching centre, the Jaipuria brand is highly revered. Ever since my college days at Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya, I’ve aspired to do a Masters in Management from Jaipuria Indore. Joining Jaipuria Indore was a favourite topic of discussion among my friends in the college canteen. We would often browse through the websites of Jaipuria Institute of Management. I even visited the Indore Campus before joining, which only strengthened my desire to be a part of Jaipuria Indore.”
Namrata believes that in the five months since joining Jaipuria Indore, she has been exposed to an environment that is a great mix of competitiveness, support and enthusiasm.
“We’ve had events like ‘Jaipuria’s Got Talent’, the Marketing Conclave, the Finance Conclave, various Guest Lectures, club and sports activities and the Encore fest. As a part of the organising committees for some of these events, we got a taste of what ‘working late into the night’ means. The last-minute nervousness, and the methods of handling pressure were some of things I’ll never forget in my life. My proudest moment so far came when I won the Marketing Conclave competition.”
An Indore girl to the core, Namrata believes in living life to the fullest. When faced with challenges, she believes in taking them ‘head-on’.
“I realise that since we are the first few batches of a new campus, we have a lot of freedom, as well as responsibility. We are going to be the ambassadors of Jaipuria Indore in the corporate world. Not just our own future, but also the careers of future batches will depend upon how we perform.”
She believes that it is because of the “fantastic faculty and placement cell” that the first batch is seeing excellent placements.”
