National Case Symposium Organised at Jaipuria Indore

The National Case Symposium on Management in India was organised in Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore on the 30th of April. Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore, Dr. Harshwardhan Halve presented the inaugural address while Prof Aditi Naidu, Convenor-NCSMI, 2016 introduced the symposium to the audience. Dr Halve, in his inaugural address, brought forth the dearth of management case studies in the context of India and mentioned that the main objective of the case symposium is to build a strong repository of management case studies to fill this gap. Prof Aditi Naidu outlined the specifics of the case symposium as she provided the detailed structure of the programme. During the inaugural session, Dr Sople, Director, ITM, Mumbai and Dr Nambudiri, Associate Professor, IIM , Indore addressed the gathering on the nuances of developing management case studies in the context of India. Dr Sople stressed that writing and publishing is an essential responsibility of an academician , especially in higher education. Dr Nambudiri explained in detail how good cases are developed, written and published. Case authors who had submitted case studies to the NCSMI 2016 presented their case studies during technical sessions post the inaugural session. Senior professors of DAVV- Dr Sapre and Dr Sitlani were invited as reviewers of the case studies. The reviewers provided detailed feedback for each case study presented. In all, about twenty case studies were presented. Selected cases from those which were submitted to the NCSMI 2016 shall be published in an edited book by Excel Books. At the end of the event, Dr Romi Sainy proposed the Vote of Thanks.
