Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow, organised a 6 days General Management Program on Administration, Finance and Vigilance for Group A and Group B Officers of Geological Survey of India, Northern Region from May 23-28, 2016.
The aim of the GMP was to offer a comprehensive management program focussing on administrative, finance and vigilance issues and problems that officers of GSI face in discharge of their day to day functions. The program combined insight building with the exploration of best practices, as well as exposure to critical new perspectives and approaches in administration, finance and vigilance.
The program encompassed sessions on Leadership role in Administration Finance and Vigilance by Dr. M Ashraf Rizvi, Issues in Office Management- by Dr. Madhukar Dwivedi, IAS (Retired) and Effective Noting and Drafting by Dr. Kajal Srivastava, Good Governance by Dr. Shalini Singh. Developing High Performance Work Culture through Vigilance Interventions by Dr. M. Ashraf Rizvi.
Role and Functions of Head of Department (HoD) and Head of Office (HoO) were expounded by Mr. Rajeev Srivastava, Former Deputy Director General, GSI. A lecture on Need of Financial Management & Principles of Financial Propriety was delivered by Prof. Shyam Ji Mehrotra. Other topics covered were Overview of Financial Rules (GFR) by Shri Krishna Gopal, Former Director, Institute of Financial Management and Training and Research, Lucknow, Ethics and Values in Business and Vigilance Management. Constitutional Provisions of Conduct and Discipline rules by Prof. Maneesh Yadav.
