Biography
Prior to joining Jaipuria Institute of Management, he has had a long & diversified Industry Experience in petroleum marketing in the Down-Stream Sector. Cumulatively, he has more than 37 years of hands-on ‘operations and marketing’ experience of working with Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), a Fortune 500 company. During his journey in IOCL, he has remained actively involved in academic activities, as he had the opportunity of working at IiPM (Indian oil Institute of Petroleum Management), Gurugram - the apex training Institute of IOCL - for about 2.5 years. He has also been a guest speaker at academic Institutes like IIM Trichy, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida, RGIPT Amethi, IMI New Delhi and many others.
He superannuated as Executive Director (Regional Services), Northern Region of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Marketing Division), in Nov 2020. He has been leading teams for coordinating with Refinery Division, R&D and Pipeline Division of Indian Oil Corporation on various issues specially in the areas of Supply & Distribution (S&D) (or Logistics) & Quality Control (QC). NR-QC under his over-all leadership was entrusted with responsibility of testing large number of samples drawn from ROs and the Locations towards implementation of BS VI grade fuel Oils in NCT and NCR in 2018 & 2019 respectively, before All India implementation in April 2020. He led from the front to successfully conduct `World Biofuel Day’ function on 10th Aug 2018 under the guidance of MOP&NG, IOC Corporate Office & HO-Marketing. It was inaugurated by Hon`ble Prime Minister of India. A similar program was also inaugurated by Honorable Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel in Aug 2019. He has many other achievements to his credit during his stint with IOCL.
Achievements and Awards:
2021: On the Advisory Board of 02 Start-ups, one of them supported by Stanford University, USA.2020: Played a significant role in maintaining continuous supplies of LPG Cylinders in IOCL Northern Region during Lock-down period, despite a surge in LPG demand.
2020: Opened a COVID testing counter in Jun 2020 in NRO to help testing of Oil Industry officials.
2019: Facilitated multi-functional teams to complete first-time-ever-in the world Pipeline Transfer of EBMS (Ethanol Based Motors Spirit) from Mathura Refinery to Agra Terminal in a multi-product fuel pipeline.
2018 : Played significant role in successful implementation of BS VI grade Fuels, first in NCT and later in NCR; subsequently implemented in entire country wef 1st April 2020.
2018: Leader of the team to organize World Biofuel Day, inaugurated by Hon`ble Prime Minister of India.
2010: Selected for and attended a coveted training program on ‘Fraud Detection & Prevention’, jointly conducted in London and New Delhi.
2004: Instrumental in signing in 10-year agreement with Central Railways, Mumbai for supply of approximately 40000 MTs HSD per annum to one of their large volume Railway Consumer Depots at Wadi (Karnataka)
2003-2004: Optimized supply chain and distribution channel by strategically positioning Furnace Oil at Khapri (Nagpur) depot vis-à-vis upliftment from Mumbai (Round trip distance >1500 Kms); resulted in additional Furnace Oil sales by 6000 MT per annum.
2002-2003: Instrumental in cost saving initiative for Defence forces; significantly cut down storage charges for HSD (actual expense Rs 25 Lacs vis-à-vis estimated Rs 1.5 cr lined up by them)
1999-2000: Winner: Servo Super 8 Club Award; awarded for increased lubricant sales in FY 1999-2000 by 23%.
