Dr. Varun Chotia is presently working as a Professor, Economics and Program Chair – First Year at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur Campus, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. He is also the PAN Area Chair of Economics and IB area at Jaipuria Institute of Management. Prior to this, he has worked at LM Thapar School of Management, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (Deemed to be a University). He has completed his PhD degree in Economics from the Department of Economics and Finance, BITS Pilani. His research specialization lies in the field of Public Infrastructure Investment and Fiscal Sustainability wherein he uses prominent econometric models for empirical analysis. Dr. Varun is an avid researcher with more than 30 research papers published in reputed ABDC A and B category journals to his credit. Before coming into academics, he also possesses around two years of corporate experience working as a Business Analyst in corporate firms like IMS Health and Accenture Management Consulting. He has passed out from BITS PILANI with MSc (hons) in Economics. Dr Varun has been awarded the Best Faculty for Research Excellence in 2024, Best Faculty for Teaching Excellence and Best Faculty for Highest Teaching Quality across all Jaipuria campuses for academic years 2021 and 2022 consecutively.
