Dr. Deepak Pandit has a unique blend of in depth academic, multinational corporate and entrepreneurial experience. He completed his thesis titled “Disruptive Innovation Manifestation & its relationship with Disruptive Innovation Dynamic Capability in India- A study of automotive OEMs” in 2015 as a fellow of Management Development Institute, Gurugram India. He also has earned his MBA from Birla Institute of Management Technology BIMTECH (1993-95) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Hons) from College of Vocational Studies, University of Delhi.
His research focuses in the area of Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He has published in top tier international journals like Technological Forecasting & Social Change, as well reputed journal focused on and/or published in India such as Journal of Entrepreneurship and International Journal of Indian Culture and Business Management. In addition, he has published teaching cases on Entrepreneurship & Strategy through world renown clearing houses such as Ivey publication, Harvard Business School collection and Emerald Emerging Market Case Studies. Since 2010 he has taught strategic management, entrepreneurship, innovation and technology courses at select B-schools including Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) Delhi, He is currently a resource person in the area of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at IIFT Delhi and has delivered executive training workshops focused on market development of high technology products, managing disruptive innovations for large Indian corporations like NTPC Limited. He also has presented in several regional and international conferences.
He was a recepient of a prestigious academic award by the government of India through All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and as a result worked at BIMTECH as research faculty. He designed and taught a doctoral course on using qualitative research methods during this project. He has been associated with Fortune Institute of International Business FIIB Delhi since May 2017 with a mandate to set up a Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at the Institute. The CIE at FIIB was soft launched in Feb 2108 and an agreement signed with National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) under the top 200 entrepreneurship focused institutions in India in April 2018. In his entrepreneurial journey from 2009 till date, Deepak is founder of a niche consulting firm PRACSTRATS and heads the technology and education practice at his venture. From 2014 to 2017 he was actively involved in setting up a new age educational venture iSEED (Indian School of Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development) where he was the co-founder and in-charge of program delivery, institution development, teaching and research. At iSEED he was responsible for designing and launching a cutting edge intervention aptly titled PREP (Professional Entrepreneurship Program) for aspiring and early stage entrepreneurs. He continues to regularly mentor Start Ups and is on the advisory board of Start Ups in several sectors like Block Chain, Mobile Technology, Renewables and Wellness.
As an industry practitioner from 1995 to 2009, Deepak has been a longstanding corporate with information technology / telecom MNCs and global startups and is a senior industry professional with general management exposure. He specializes in market development for high technology products and services in the wireless and satellite communications domain. He has worked with organizations like HCL Corporation, Motorola, Intel and global start-ups like Gilat Satellite Networks and Satellite Technology Management (STM). His last corporate role was as Country Manager – India for STM Group Inc an American satellite major.
