“B-School education at crossroads: Rethinking and Reinventing Relevance”
The B-school education landscape has witnessed a sea change. This change is attributable to internal factors and the external regulatory framework and the consequential competition. The deregulated higher education sector has seen the foray of foreign business schools. This has made the existing and long cherished rules of the game redundant and new rules have to be evolved in terms of content, curriculum, research, industry interface, quality and credibility. A new mix needs to be re-invented and re-created. The article suggests merit in having a Strong Global Orientation, Innovation focus, Transcending the ‘silo syndrome’, Leadership Development, Accommodating Sustainability in the design and delivery of the program.
A right blend of academic rigor and vocational relevance is what a B-School should strive for and cross functional, innovative and socially responsible business leaders shall follow!
