When we say “Be Ready for Realising your dreams” we mean every word by giving you the Be-School that prepares you to Be. A latest instance to that is Jaipuria, Indore’s interactive session with Rishiraj Singh – Head Placements, Jaipuria Group of Institutes. Held on 24th and 25th of November, it was meant to help students align to the upcoming placement season. Both Class of 2017 and 2018.
From day zero of a student’s starting with Jaipuria Institute of Management, the B-school prepares the future managers in every way to make them industry ready. The talk with Rishiraj coordinated by members of Training and Placement Committee encouraged PGDM 2017 and 2018 students to strategically approach companies for recruitments, whether it is for summer internships or for final placements.
Rishiraj made students aware of the best practices followed by other top b-schools such as the IIMs. According to him, “The main role of placement coordinators is to interact with various HRs of the companies, convert as many of them as possible, facilitate and welcome them on campus. You also need to make sure that students have proper interaction with previous batches and know the trends.”
Rishiraj began the session with first years with a task at hand. He asked students to make a list of their short and long-term goals as they prepare for the placement season. He believes career plans can help students choose classes they should take, extracurricular activities, research, so that they are best candidates for jobs. He then emphasized on the importance of Summer Internships and how they can benefit from it while making the best choice at final placements.
In the session with the students of PGDM Batch 15-17, Rishiraj talked about the latest trends followed by recruiters. He helped students understand that, “Today companies are less focussed about the campus and more concerned about the attitude, behavior, and performance of the prospective candidate.” No doubt, to bag a great job, a lot many great things go behind it!
And what’s with first impression? The buzz phrase in the recruiters’ world since eternity has been “first impression”. Rishiraj had some advice on that. “The first impression can affect an interviewer’s attitude towards you throughout the evaluation process. If he feels positive towards you upon first look, he is more likely to listen with a keen interest. So, work on the impression you give out,” he said. Students also realized the huge role their appearance and body language can play in making these first impressions.
The session with Rishiraj who knows the placement process inside out, gave Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore students the necessary understanding, strengths, focus and motivation to prep them up for what’s coming ahead.
