There are many who realise they can do better in life, and yet choose to carry on doing whatever is it that they do. Paridhi Nigam is not one of them. About a month back, she was picked up by Mancer Consulting – one of the best known recruitment consulting firms in the country providing ‘across the spectrum’ recruitment services to their clients – as a Management Trainee in the IT- team. Once she completes 6 months of service, she will be promoted to the role of a Management Consultant.

“Today I understand why I was the only one shortlisted from Jaipuria, Noida amongst a dozen who applied for the position. It needs a different kind of confidence when 90% of your work is to speak to candidates about their JD, to figure out if they are the right choice for the defined profile. This job also requires you to grasp the nitty-gritty of a completely new domain very quickly, something which is bread-and-butter for a journalist. I remember being asked in my interview, as to how will I cope with new technology for which we will be recruiting for our clients. My answer was ‘learning is the first step for everything’. In essence, that is what I learnt at Jaipuria, Noida.
Paridhi believes that a management student has the opportunity – and should be involved – in the co-curricular events that Jaipuria, Noida has to offer. She feels that Jaipuria, Noida provides its students with a fairly enjoyable campus life, but when it comes to discipline and the enhancement of learning, nothing is taken lightly.
