Marketing Wizard 2013, an event to unfold the marketing practices in the industries from the experts and a platform for youngsters to implement their learning about marketing. Mr. Dheeraj Sharma, Head Trainer, IDEA Cellular, Mr. Ritesh Yadav, MD, Brand Addicted and Mr. Gaurav Shandilya from Red FM graced the most sought after marketing event .

Addressing the gathering and welcoming the guest of honour, Dr. J.P. Upadhyay, Director of the Institute said that the Marketing wizard 2013 is all about nurturing the talent that lies within the students in specific to their marketing skills, which is an essential skill for the budding managers as per the industry standards.

As a part of Big April, Introducing the Marketing wizard 2013, Prof. Aditi Naidu shared her insight on how marketing has transformed the real world over a period of time by taking an example of existing brands such as Dove, Cadbury, HUL, Maggi etc. Further stating the significance of STP (i.e.), segmentation, targeting, positioning and 4Ps in a marketing plan; she shared promoting and catalysing the creative instincts within the students as the objective of the presentation competition to be held on the Marketing plan of Branded Watches, Chocolates and Shoes.

As a Keynote speaker for the event Mr. Dheeraj Sharma, Head Trainer, IDEA Cellular, discussed the changes in the market scenario, and the increase in pace at which the brands interact with the consumers. He said that the concepts learned earlier are obsolete now, and now a day’ the learning is not just confined to books but the practical experience which we earn on the field. He stated that a marketing plan is not just a piece of paper but much beyond it that includes identifying the needs, knowing the customers, finding an appropriate product, forming the strategies and lot more. Further he added that the objective of creating a marketing plan is to meet the needs of the customer.

Mr. Ritesh Yadav, MD, Brand Addicted, shared his rich experience he had for the past 8 years. As a message to the young professionals and entrepreneurs he said that we all have a dream and there is a risk involved at each stage of life, but we should follow our dream no matter what comes our way. It may happen that what we may plan, we may not achieve in a single take but in small steps, we can fulfil those dreams.

After getting an enriching insight from the experts, it was time for the Big April’s noble cause (i.e.) the Go Green initiative by the students for the sustainable development of nature as a whole. Realizing the magnitude of how much the Mother Nature gives to nurture our mind, body and soul, the students of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore along with the guest on campus, Mr. Dheeraj Sharma, Mr. Ritesh Yadav and Mr. Gaurav Shandilya from Red FM had a tree plantation drive.

Marketing Wizard 2103 witnessed a tough competition on marketing plan by the students from several institutes viz. IMS, IPS and Jaipuria. Students with different new concepts and innovation in products presented the marketing plans. The zeal to excel and outperform was very much visible in the students. There were 3 winner teams for the competition who won the grand cash prizes viz. Snehlata Kashyap, Tapesh Shrivastava for the 1st position, Md. Javed, Rishabh Jain for the 2nd position and Arpit Mishra, Dhiraj Kumar for the 3rd position.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Prof. Romi Sainy . The fun filled event proved to be really informative and helped students think creatively by giving a competitive environment.
