Joel Matthew recounts the experience of the exciting Freshers party at Jaipuria, Jaipur.

The evening of 8th August 2013 remains memorable in many ways. It was the Fresher’s party for the much renowned PGDM course students after all. And the second year students rolled out a red carpet welcome for freshers and turned the evening into an extravaganza that no one can forget in the near future.

The party room was decorated to the hilt with sheets of all shapes and sizes, prints and colours to create the perfect setting for the evening. The joie de vivre of the organizers and everyone who was a part of the event added to its charm and made it an evening to remember.

The night of revelry began when the doors to the venue were thrown open at 5.30 pm. Flashing lights and loud music accompanied the buzzing start. Second year PGDM students, the hosts of the evening then applied Tilak to the faculty and welcomed them into the smartly decorated auditorium.

Jaipuria Institute of Management Dean (Student Affairs), Dr Abhijit Nair kicked off the evening by saying, “It’s the fresher’s day today; hope all of you succeed in whatever you do, make the most of your skills, enjoy your day and all the best for your future endeavours.”

Everyone at the party was dressed for the occasion and their anticipation about the evening was evident in their every move. It only added to the ambience and mood of the evening, which of course was energetic and lively throughout.

The first year batch put on a dance sequence to begin the revelry and it was greeted by a loud cheer. Melodious songs and dramatics created the perfect party mood, which was much appreciated by all.

However, it all seemed like a build up to the most eagerly awaited event of the evening; Mr and Miss Fresher 2013. After several rounds of questions laced with humour that tested contestants’ intellect and wit, Mr. Salman Khan and Ms. Ishpreet Kaur were chosen as Mr. and Miss Fresher 2013.

The dance floor was then opened for students who swayed to the electrifying music played by the DJ. Two hours on, students were dancing the night away and the fun didn’t seem to stop. A lavish spread of mouth watering food completed the fun-filled experience on this eventful evening.
