“Jaipuria provides a good platform in the field of learning, corporate exposure and good competitive placements” says Kaustav Das, Jaipuria Indore, Class of 2015-17

Kaustav hails from Kolkata and he is currently pursuing his PGDM with dual specialization in Marketing & HR. He came to Jaipuria after working for 1 year with TCS, which he joined after completing his BBA (Hons) from Techno India, Kolkata. On his choice of joining Jaipuria Indore, he says “This Institute provides a good platform in the field of learning, corporate exposure and good competitive placements. It also provides ample opportunities in many live projects and industrial relations”.

His journey so far has lived up to his expectations. “The initial semesters are really good since you get to learn new management principles and get to know your focus areas, like which specialization is comfortable for you. I have been able to achieve most of my targets. I had planned to achieve a minimum of four live projects and be a part of the Winter Internship program, which I did. I have also conducted a national Finance conclave at my college with the help of my friends and faculty members.”

The faculty aspect is something that Kaustav is particularly happy about. “Faculty and classes are a true delight for every Jaipurian. All the professors are very learned and yet very approachable and helpful,” he says. “This gives Jaipurians an edge over other B-school graduates. Prof. Jagdish Bhagwat and Dr. Manish Shukla are my particular favourites because they are student-oriented faculty members and have helped me in every field with their cooperative nature and great teaching skills.” Kaustav tries to live by the words of his mentor Dr Manish Shukla: “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.”

Kaustav sees himself as an HR professional, specialising in talent acquisition. He has focussed on developing his skills in this area. “Currently I am interning at UAS International working for India First, which has a tie ups with Bank of Baroda and Andhra Bank,” he tells us. “My Internship is in the Field of HR and Marketing (dual internship) and the title of my project is yet to be allocated. My objective is to get more corporate exposure in the field of Marketing (Sales) and HR (HRIS, Recruitment, Performance Appraisal).”

On campus, Kaustav has made many friends and is delighted with the diversity in the batch, which is a learning in itself. He strongly believes in the words of his friend and batch mate Abhishek Saxena who says “The love of family and the admiration of friends is much more important than wealth and privilege”.
