25 years ago the shining beacon of management studies in North India came to light in Lucknow offering a silver lining for higher education in the country. On 8th September Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow celebrated its silver jubilee with a virtual Foundation Day ceremony held in the presence of eminent personalities. Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh, and Padma Shri Mr. T.V. Mohandas Pai, Chairman, Manipal Global Education were the Chief Guest and Keynote speakers for the event that will be remembered for long.
Given the unusual circumstances of the year, Foundation Day was an e-celebration but that didn’t dampen the spirits of jaipurians. Dr. Kavita Pathak started the proceedings by highlighting the legacy of the institution, which has been marked with many remarkable milestones. The Triple ground of the highest-grade accreditation for the flagship PGDM program by the National Board of Accreditation is just one of them. She paid homage to Late Dr. Rajaram Jaipuria, Founding Chairman, Late Shri R.K. Nair, first Chief Administrative Officer, and Late Dr. Bhattacharya. “The legacy of an institution is not counted by the number of years but by the number of batches that have graduated,” she said.
When Jaipuria Lucknow came into being 25 years ago, it sparked a new beginning. Shri Sharad Jaipuria looked back on the journey and offered credit to the leadership, hard work, and dedication of the board members, academic council members, faculty, staff, and alumni. He also asserted “We must always be conscious of challenges, and look at ways for turning it into an opportunity, to build a promising future,” were his inspiring words.
Long Service Awards were then presented to 14 faculty and staff members, who have been solid pillars of the institution. The Chief Guest, Dr. Dinesh Sharma then congratulated Jaipuria Institute of Management on the momentous occasion and recounted its major achievements, which have also led the way for higher education in the country. Talking about the New Education Policy 2020 he said, “It could bring a revolutionary change in the education system by focusing on learning, rather than study, and giving importance to passion and performance.”
Padma Shri Mr. T.V. Mohandas Pai, Dr. N.K. Dhooper and Mr. Akash Deep Saxena also shared their thoughts on the growth of the institution over the years and the role it has to play for the future of management aspirants in the country. Shri. Shreevats Jaipuria in his Vote of Thanks, “These 25 years of journey of Jaipuria Lucknow, which is also India’s amongst top management institute in Lucknow have been about creating value. But the best is yet to come.” And that augurs well for future management aspirants, and the future of management education in India.
