CAT 2020 is fast approaching its set date of 29th November. Given the unprecedented events of the year, the test will be held over the duration of two hours instead of three. Each of the three sections in the paper has been reduced to 40 minutes each. Even though the officials haven’t made the pattern clear for the examination but hopefully the number of questions will be reduced. Candidates will also be wondering whether to wait for CAT 2021 and let go of a year, but we suggest otherwise. Stick to your plan.

Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, which is organizing the test this year said, “Since it would be difficult to engage more centers, reducing the time duration made sense. We also wanted to give sufficient time between two sessions for staggered entry and exit.” The exam will be held in both online and offline formats.

Pandemic or not, we would like to believe that your preparations haven’t stopped. But as the date nears, CAT candidates will also have to bear in mind the safety and distancing protocols this year. The good news is that most of us are used to these protocols by now. Besides, these additional measures, your preparations for CAT 2020 and the test day remain the same. It’s understandable that candidates feel anxious as the exam date nears. The key lies in organizing yourself for the test day smartly while believing in your preparations.

Don’t forget to keep all your documents in place before the test. If you have opted for physical centers, get there in time, especially with current safety protocols. In the previous years the test had barred the use of keyboard to answer questions in online tests. Be aware of the rules. Above all, relax, do things you love to unwind, and brace for CAT 2020 with confidence.
