We have moved from the era of "intuition" and "gut feel" where marketing managers would depend on their experience to make decisions to a period of number crunching based decision making. Today whether one is selling apparel or toothpaste, cars or fast food, the ability to access and process numbers effectively for decision-making is what differentiates a successful company or marketing manager from others.

    Introduction

Talent Acquisition a synonym to recruitment and selection, has experienced a sea level transformation in the last five years. With more than a whopping 75% of the population online, using one or other social media, time has been demanding to redefine the HR practices to shell out new ways to play the game of recruitment and selection. It has never been easier to find and source candidates online, however, the social web has also made recruiting more complex simultaneously as candidates are becoming more segmented across the web. While it's easier than ever to find talent, the challenge is in the outreach for the relevant candidatures. With so many organizations jumping on the social recruiting bandwagon, it’s becoming harder to get a response from top candidates since it's likely they are not actively looking or are being contacted by other companies too. With today’s candidates on at least one social media network, we need a multichannel approach to reach and engage as many target candidates as we can on the platforms where they are spending time. Just like marketing, we need to go where our talent is.

    Introduction

We are operating in an extremely volatile and dynamic business environment. In order to navigate through turbulent waters (times), we need an entirely different breed of sailors (manager) who are equipped with strategic leadership competencies and passion to convert threats into opportunities.

Excelling organizations thrive in chaotic situations. In order to create world class organizations, the traditional business managers have to come out of their narrow bureaucratic cocoons and open their wings to soar in the wide global sky. For that, it has to be a skin deep DNA change than a mere cosmetic one-a real transformation from a manager to a leader.

Such intangible leadership competencies are inherent in most of us. The organizations have to unleash and polish them by creating a culture of development, mentoring and grooming, as leaders are developed, they are not born.

The workshop, precisely aims at creating this awareness in existing managers by discussing critical leadership competencies and giving live examples from the industry and business world.

Social Media today asserts a greater degree of importance in understanding of society and business. The concept of Social Media is on top of the agenda for researchers as well as business today. Decision makers, consultants, practitioners, and researchers try to identify ways in which firms can make profitable use of Social Media platforms like as YouTube, Facebook, Linked in and Twitter. Emerging from the rapid adoption of internet technologies, Social Media is bound to become more ubiquitous, as the smart phones, tablets and other mobile platforms proliferate. Social Media is therefore a field of interest to business, the public sector, the researchers and the analysts both not only as an exciting way of harnessing technology and widening participation, but also as the generator of big data .

    Chakravyuh- Management Games

“It is in our interests to be the lawyer, the judge, the hangman or rather the HR. It is like the natural resource buried deep, it just needs to be looked for creating circumstance where it has to be ‘our show’!”

The HR Club IPSA, Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida organized CHAKRAVYUH, the HR management game under the vibrant support and special guidance of Dr. Shalini Srivastava, faculty coordinator and the members of the HR club, on 27th January‘16 so as to add on to the importance of experiential learning with the existing theories. The world of management domain is quite complex where management games play a very significant role. Management is taught as a collection of knowledge areas, separated from each other and the integration is left to the minds of the students. The management process is run in a system and the structure of such a system defines its behavior lucidly when the process is a simple presentation in the form of GAMES.

These games were organized primarily for students from CPIT, Christchurch, New Zealand who are on their study tour to Jaipuria Institute of Management, under Students Exchange program as part of our MOU with CPIT, Christchurch, New Zealand. CHAKRAVYUH- the management games added to their learning experience in India.

There were two consecutive games conducted under this event – “CROSSING THE HURDLES” and “THE DOG AND THE BONE” which taught about time management, team coordination, leadership etc. the winner team emerged to be- Saumya Ojha, Ishita, Shailabh, Surbhi Srishti and Sam and the runners up team members were- Shilpa Malik, Kritika, Gunjita, Atishya and Nina.

We at Jaipuria understand that exchange programs create opportunities- opportunities for participants to learn, to prosper, and to work with others to solve shared problems and ensure vibrancy. Exchanges create future leaders who instinctively appreciate the value of international collaboration, understanding, and empathy. The event was highly successful in reaching its motive of participation and holistic learning.

The theme directly implies and triggers the process of continuous upgradation through Operational Excellence. Simply said, it means “change for better” by continuously improving the processes across all functions which interalia cut across all hierarchical levels of the organization.
These days clients need a change, right from manufacturing to customer support by transforming the business processes through Innovations for a paradigm shift.

The manufacturing vertical enhances production and after enabling and integrating it with technological upgradations in supply chain, it drastically improves the economies of scale with benefits to production technology by reducing cost and developing enhanced skilled workforce. We need to keep in mind that unless the operations use innovative processes to improve upon and those innovations could become operational we cannot lead the way we want.

    INTRODUCTION

Research plays an important role in development of the society by increasing the quantum of knowledge and solving crucial problems in different areas of social sciences. The recent research movements are generally based on recognition of need for critical. The traditional emphasis on factual knowledge and singular truths is diminishing and the knowledge generation and cultural interchange is increasing. This necessitates the awareness of research tools.

Many researchers in the social sciences use SPSS to perform data analysis, but often formal training in use of the software and how to interpret output is severely lacking. This workshop using SPSS aims to eliminate the quantitative skills deficit which exists among many social science researchers.

Don't be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth.
Around here, we keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.
Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, architecture, bridges, street signs, bodies of water, light and shadows. Creativity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. "It's not where you take things from but how you take it to be!!!

The MRC department of the esteemed Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida is organizing the one of its kind ever –MEDIA ARDOR – a mega event inviting endless enthusiastic participations. We have three fields to explore :-

    E LANCE … SHUTTERBUGZ … DREAM THEATRE…

It is a cruel, ironical art, PHOTOGRAPHY and FILM and THEATRE!!! The dragging of captured moments into the future; moments that should have been allowed to be evaporated into the past; should exist only in memories, glimpsed through the fog of events that came , creates the illusion of innocence. Its ironies of frozen narrative lend to its subjects an apparent unawareness that they will change or die. It is the future they are innocent of.
E LANCING would be capturing and attracting the attentions and selling of your own stories of hot cakes , A strategy to goggle upon!!!

Let us make our creativities speak! Let this event unfold the hidden newness!

    About the Workshop

A case provides a simulated business decision making environment forcing student to analyze, plan and take actions. It links pertinent theories and concepts, hitherto invisible, but to be discovered for application and problem solving and thus ensures more active participation and indelible learning experience. It requires one to isolate and think through the key issues involved, against both theory and the larger comparative environment. A good case is more than just a description. It is information arranged in such a way that the reader assumes the position of the protagonist (decision maker) and tries to take the decision in the light of real-life situation, desired outcomes, and constraints provided in the case. There is a scarcity of good quality teaching cases and this workshop aims to equip participants write cases for use in classroom discussion. The Case Writing Workshop would help the participants in development of Teaching Cases by specifically helping them in identifying the topic and situation, choosing the writing style to simulate interest, building up the case setting to make it thought provoking, identifying the data requirement, making the case multidimensional and multidisciplinary and writing the quintessential teaching note.

    About FDP

Research is a continuously changing and dynamic business activity. The role of research has changed dramatically in the past few years due to various crises—material and energy shortages, high unemployment, and effects of rapid technological changes in certain industries. Such changes, including the digital media, have forced today’s researchers to be more market driven in their strategic decision-making, requiring a formalized means of acquiring accurate and timely information about employees, customers, products and the overall environment.

This workshop explores how globalization and technology are changing scholarly research and how these changes impact researchers, institutions and publications around the world.

Although publication has always been one of the driving forces of scholarly research, it has now reached a new level of importance. The potential negative impact of not getting published on a regular basis is pushing some researchers to cut corners in order to increase their chances of acceptance into distinguished journals. Essentially, the positives of getting published outweigh the negatives of potential research misconduct

There are several reasons why it is important to adhere to ethical norms in research. First, norms promote the aims of research, such as knowledge, truth, and avoidance of error. For example, prohibitions against fabricating, falsifying, or misrepresenting research data promote the truth and avoid error. Second, since research often involves a great deal of cooperation and coordination among many different people in different disciplines and institutions, ethical standards promote the values that are essential to collaborative work, such as trust, accountability, mutual respect, and fairness. For example, many ethical norms in research, such as guidelines for authorship, copyright and patenting policies, data sharing policies, and confidentiality rules in peer review, are designed to protect intellectual property interests while encouraging collaboration. Third, many of the ethical norms help to ensure that researchers can be held accountable to the public. For instance, policies on research are necessary in order to make sure that researchers who are funded by public money can be held accountable to the public. Fourth, ethical norms in research also help to build public support for research. Finally, many of the norms of research promote a variety of other important moral and social values, such as social responsibility, compliance with the law, and health and safety.

    About Programme:

It is essential that every Organization, whether government / autonomous or semi-government or private, should have a well established reward and punishment system to ensure that the people are made to work towards the fulfillment of the Organizational goals.

Today the Public Sector Undertakings in the country play a significant role in the economic as well as social development of the country. Further, the spectrum of public sector ranges from monopolistic nature to highly competitive fields like Textiles, Banking etc. Today theseundertakings are trustees of public money, therefore their responsibility is higher than private sector organizations.

Organizations need modulation & regulation of employee’s behavior for desired results. This is required in all organizations universally. But Public sector and Government organizations have some other special angle because they deal with public money and there is no particular individual(s) who own that as a trustee. Hence an eternal vigil in honest transaction of day to day business has become important aspect. Hence, both the management of general discipline as well as vigilance has become necessary. It is imperative for PSU manager to understand them and implement them in day to day business.

The Right to Information Act 2005 envisages a practical regime of transparency and accountability in the working of Public Authorities. It aims at empowerment of the common citizen with ideas and information to seek entitlements and to participate in the process of democratic governance. This Act fosters an informed citizenry and participative decision making process giving right to Citizen to seek information, inspect work or record, take samples, and monitor progress and performance of Governance. This Act has dismantled the framework of secrecy and now providing information is the rule and secrecy is an exception.

The 3- days training programme from Jaipuria Institute of Management is divided into three parts and broadly covers the following crucial aspects of Industrial Discipline, Vigilance and RTI.
